The Chase Home has received a $5,000 grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Richard Spence Lockhart Fund. Founded in 1877, The Chase Home in Portsmouth provides at-risk youth across the state with prevention, early intervention, residential, and community-based services.

Meme Wheeler, executive director of The Chase Home, expressed gratitude for the award. “We are so thankful for this support, because it enables us to put the money into areas of operation where they are needed the most,” she said.

Some of these areas include technology upgrades, staff training, and supplies for the youth who live at The Chase Home. “New bedding and personal items are expenses that come up suddenly, too, so this grant gives us some flexibility,” added Wheeler.
