On Friday, May 5, Seacoast Oral Surgery Center & Lakes Region Oral Surgery Center will host a gala at AC Hotel in Portsmouth with proceeds to benefit The Chase Home and Operation Smile. “We are thrilled to support both organizations,” said Shannon Pietrowicz, implant and public relations coordinator at Seacoast Oral Surgery Center.
Founded in 1877, The Chase Home in Portsmouth provides at-risk youth across the state with prevention, early intervention, residential, and community-based services. Began nearly 40 years ago, Operation Smile treats cleft lip and cleft palate for children in underdeveloped nations throughout the world.
“We want to support organizations that make a difference for kids and families,” said Dr. Daniel De Tolla, co-founder of Seacoast Oral Surgery Center & Lakes Region Oral Surgery Center with Dr. Dave Pak. “We hope to make this an annual event.”
According Pak, supporting organizations with a global and national outreach and helping children and families without financial resources or access to life-changing healthcare is paramount. “A changed life can have ripple effects throughout the community and the world,” he added.
Meme Wheeler, executive director of The Chase Home, expressed gratitude at “the unexpected display of support.” “I met Shannon at our fundraiser in November, so I knew they understood our mission, but I was not expecting them to plan such an ambitious event to support the kids and families we work with,” she said. “This is wonderful. I cannot thank Dr. De Tolla enough.”
According to Pietrowicz, staff at all 4 Seacoast Oral Surgery Center & Lakes Region Oral Surgery Centers—Portsmouth, Exeter, Rochester, and Gilford—are excited. “This is a way for us to give locally and globally, which means a lot to all our staff,” she said. “We look forward to a wonderful event.”
