On Wednesday, November 13, a full house is expected at The Chase Home’s 6th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting, presented by The Atlantic Grill in Rye.
Founded in 1877, The Chase Home in Portsmouth serves nearly 300 at-risk youth and families annually statewide through prevention, early intervention, residential and community-based programs.
Noting this is the second year the event will take place at The Atlantic Grill, The Chase Home Executive Director Meme Wheeler said the restaurant has “stepped up” this year.
“The owners have long been supporters of our work with at-risk kids, so this year is a big step for us in further developing our partnership,” she said.
The Atlantic Grill is owned by brothers Michael and Peter Labrie, both of whom indicated they believe in giving back to the community.
“The Seacoast community has been such an amazing place to grow up and raise our families in,” said Peter. “Now that we are part of the business community, Mike and I are honored to be able to give back through such amazing charities like The Chase Home.”
Last year, the annual fundraiser netted more than $47,000, an amount Wheeler said was used to support their operation in many ways.
“From food and toiletries for the kids who live here to drug counseling and vocational skills training for youth in the community, this event is a critical fundraising tool for us,” she said.
Taking place on Wednesday, November 13 from 6 to 8 pm, The Chase Home’s 6th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting will feature food, cocktails, a short program, and a live and silent auction.
“It’s a chance to learn more about our work and get involved,” said Wheeler. “The Atlantic Grill has a beautiful space, too, so it will be a fantastic night.”
The Chase Home Board Member Justin Rivlin, general manager of River House, which is also owned by the Labrie brothers, agreed and said the need for the annual event underscores a stark reality.
“The Chase Home is mandated to help kids in crisis, but underfunded by the state,” he said. “This event is really important for the agency and, especially, our kids.”
Individual tickets for the fundraiser are $65 with sponsorship opportunities beginning at $250.
There are a limited number of tickets offered for this event. Tickets may be securely purchased online at www.chasehome.org.
