In July, The Chase Home met with Jim Carrigan at Meredith Village Savings Bank, which led to a $1,000 contribution and now $2,500 to sponsor the agency’s 5th Wine & Chocolate Tasting.

Taking place at The Atlantic Grill in Rye on November 13, the event is the largest fundraiser for The Chase Home, which serves more than 140 at-risk youth annually statewide through prevention, early intervention, residential and community-based programs.

In discussing the partnership, Rob Levey, board president at The Chase Home, said it goes well beyond “financial transactions.”

“Ultimately, we have shared visions,” he explained. “Both of our organizations want a vibrant, healthy community. By working together and sharing our skills and resources, we can more effectively make this shared vision a reality.”

Meme Wheeler, The Chase Home executive director, said she is impressed at the time the bank has taken to understand the work undertaken by the agency.

“We are not just a residential home for at-risk kids,” said Wheeler. “We are a clinical treatment facility that provides 24/7 supports and services. We also work in the community, schools, community health centers, primary care facilities…It is great to be able to explain what we do to Jim so they can better understand the challenges faced by many in this community.”

For Carrigan, the fundraiser in November is “a festive and fun evening that raises awareness for Chase Home’s supportive programs and their service to local at-risk youth.”

“All proceeds contribute to the health and well-being of local children being served,” he said. “Not only am I proud to sponsor, but I want to encourage everyone to join us for what is certain to be a fabulous night for the most worthy of causes.”

This genuine enthusiasm, according to Wheeler, is “refreshing.”

“We want people excited about the chance to turn kids’ lives around,” she said. “We look forward to continuing to work with Meredith Village Savings Bank in the coming months.”

Carrigan agrees and said their continued support reflects the bank’s overarching philanthropic mission.

“We care about the communities we serve,” he said. “We feel strongly that supporting The Chase Home is a great way to not only demonstrate this care, but make a difference in the lives of kids and families in need of help.”

The 5th Wine & Chocolate Tasting will take place on Tuesday, November 13 from 6 and 8 pm at The Atlantic Grill, 5 Pioneer Road in Rye. Doors open at 5:30 pm.
