For more than 50 years, the Exeter Area New Car Dealers, an association composed of several dealerships in the greater Exeter area, has made investments into local nonprofits with the latest directed into Chase Home.

Founded in 1877 in Portsmouth, Chase Home serves youth and families in crisis in the greater Seacoast region and across the state.

According to Chase Home Executive Director Meme Wheeler, the association recently approved $26,000 toward the purchase of a 2016 12-passenger van with 300 miles on it.

“We had one vehicle that was literally off the road with our other primary vehicle on its ‘last legs’ so to speak,” she said. “This is a major contribution and one that enhances the safety of our staff and kids. It is also a boost to our bottom line…I cannot thank the association enough.”

While historically serving kids throughout the greater Seacoast, Wheeler said she believes the gift from the Exeter Area New Car Dealers will help to highlight Chase Home’s work in Exeter. She cited close ties with Exeter area schools, Exeter Police Department, Exeter Hospital and other agencies.

“We have worked in this community for years, but only recently started to promote our work here,” she said. “We really appreciate the association’s gift…This is a donation that will positively impact our operation for many years to come.”
