On Wednesday, November 10, The Chase Home’s 7th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting Hosted by Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club will take place with attendees as excited about Portsmouth’s newest venue as the evening’s philanthropic impact. “Jimmy’s recently opened, and it is just a beautiful facility,” said The Chase Home Executive Director Meme Wheeler. “We are so grateful they are supporting our mission through this important event as our title sponsor.”
Founded in 1877, The Chase Home in Portsmouth serves nearly 300 at-risk youth and families annually statewide through prevention, early intervention, residential and community-based programs. Since its inception, the annual wine and chocolate fundraiser has raised nearly $200,000.
According to Justin Rivlin, who is helping to lead a working committee on The Chase Home board that is planning the event, the opportunity to host the fundraising event after a year hiatus is “incredible.”
“Like many nonprofits, it’s been tough to engage people when we are not sure what is next regarding the pandemic,” he said. “This event gets Chase Home back out into the community, and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors and individual donors, all of which makes this possible.”
“It’s a big night for us and our kids,” added Wheeler. “We look forward to an incredible event at an equally incredible venue.”
Taking place on Wednesday, November 10 from 6 to 9 pm, The Chase Home’s 7th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting Hosted by Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club will feature food, cocktails, a short program, and a live and silent auction. In addition to Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club, major sponsors include Service Credit Union, Kennebunk Savings, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Exeter Hospital, Seacoast Children’s Dentistry, and Meredith Village Savings Bank.
