While known as a nonprofit in Portsmouth–it was founded in 1877–The Chase Home serves dozens of at-risk youth and their caregivers from Exeter.

“We work very closely with the Exeter School System through many of our programs, and an Exeter policeman sits on a committee for our Diversion program,” noted Meme Wheeler, executive director. “We serve kids from across the Seacoast and, in some cases, the state.”

For Exeter Hospital, who supports The Chase Home in multiple ways, which includes sponsoring its upcoming 6th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting, the nonprofit agency’s impact is “tremendous.”

“We appreciate the numerous ways in which Chase Home quietly works behind the scenes in Exeter and surrounding communities to help youth in grave risk and crises,” said Jenn McGowan, community impact officer at Exeter Hospital. “We especially appreciate their focus on building partnerships with other nonprofits.”

The Chase Home’s work with area at-risk youth also recently attracted the support of The Bungalow Club at Exeter.

“We believe in a vibrant community, and a lot of that starts with the work of local nonprofits like The Chase Home,” said The Bungalow Club Founder Kathleen Mahoney. “We are thrilled to support their work and join other community-minded corporate citizens at their fundraiser.

Presented by The Atlantic Grill, The Chase Home’s takes place on Wednesday, November 13 from 6 to 8 pm and will feature food, cocktails, a short program, and a live and silent auction.

“This is an event that helps to bridge gaps in our budget, as we only receive a little more than half of what it costs to provide services to at-risk youth and, in some cases, house them,” said Wheeler.

The Chase Home serves nearly 300 at-risk youth and families annually through prevention, early intervention, residential and community-based programs.

Major sponsors of the 6th Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting include presenting sponsor The Atlantic Grill with additional support by Exeter Hospital, Sean and Kirsten Mahoney, Kennebunk Savings, Enna Chocolate and La Cascade Du Chocolat.

Individual tickets for the fundraiser are $65 with sponsorship opportunities beginning at $250.

Tickets may be securely purchased online at chasehome.org.
