chase home

Since The Chase Home for Children was established, the generosity and kindness of the citizens of Portsmouth and the Seacoast area have always been impressive.  Donations of goods or cash in any amount are always appreciated.

Year-Round

At the Chase Home, we always appreciate additional funds for recreational, educational and cultural activities to enhance our programming throughout the year. Cash donations of any amount would help to subsidize critical activities for the residents:

  • Tuition for individual residents to participate in driver's education and enrichment classes such as dance, yoga, photography, swimming, etc.
  • Fees for enrollment in community sporting activities or clubs
  • Required equipment for participation in school sports – cleats, padding, protective gear, uniforms, etc.
  • Educational field trips that are part of our Summer Program to such highlights as the Boston Museum of Science; whale watches; America's Stonehenge in Salem, N.H.; the Weather Discovery Center at the Mount Washington Observatory; Squam Lake Science Center; the Portland Museum of Art; New England Aquarium in Boston, etc.
  • Adventure-based learning activities geared for self-esteem and team-building, such as a ropes course, rock climbing with instructors, white water rafting and kayaking
  • Group recreational activities, such as bowling, roller skating, snow tubing and skiing
  • Backpacks and school supplies
  • Sports/recreational equipment for general use, such as:
  • Softball equipment – bats, balls, catcher's mask and pads, gloves, bases, helmets and equipment bag
  • Skateboards with elbow and knee pads, wrist guards and helmets
  • Snow Tubes
  • Ice skates
  • Basketballs, volleyballs and soccer balls
  • Water Shoes
  • Kayaks and paddles
  • Bedding – Twin Size – Including:

Mattresses and mattress covers
Pillows and pillow covers
Sheet sets
Fleece blankets
Comforter sets
Toiletries – male and female

  • Furniture – new or gently used:
  • Twin-size beds
  • Bureau – 4 to 6 drawers
  • Student desk and chair

Also, cash donations of any amount are greatly appreciated to augment our services for our youth and families. The generosity of the community is needed to supplement insufficient government reimbursement in the face of rising costs. To make a donation via PayPal, please click here:

During the Holiday Season

For adolescents in a residential treatment program, the joy and excitement of the holiday season can be overshadowed by the reality of being in placement and away from home.  Our experienced and dedicated staff are skilled in responding to the emotional needs of our youth and help them participate in our program holiday celebrations.  Also, thanks to the generosity of so many groups and individuals from the community, our residents receive numerous gifts at the annual holiday party. If you would like to make a contribution or send a gift during the holiday season, here are some suggestions:
